Volunteer
Are you interested in being a Library volunteer?
Consider the Library's Volunteen program, especially for students in grade 6 and up.
- You must have complted 6th grade to be a Project Volunteen or a Summer Reading Volunteen.
- You must be responsible.
- You must attend an orientation. (Ask Library staff about our next date.)
- You must be a Mount Prospect resident
- You must complete and return a signed application.
What volunteer opportunties are available?
Project Volunteen
- You must have completed 6th grade.
- Plan on 2 hours per week.
- Responsibilities include shelving, filing, and other projects assigned by Library staff.
- Orientation is offered three times a year.
Summer Reading Volunteen (June and July only)
- You must have completed 6th grade.
- Plan on 2 hours per week, June 1 to July 31.
- You will talk with younger children and their parents about the Youth summer reading program and give out prizes. You will enjoy this most if you are a "people person" - enthusiastic, interested in kids and able to communicate well.
- Orientation is offered in late spring.
