Getting a Library Card
For more information about getting a library card, visit the Registration Desk on the first floor. You must show identification that you live in Mount Prospect. Your library card allows you to check-out books, music and movies, and to use computers in the Library free of charge. For more information call the Registration Desk at 847-253-5675.

In the Library
Computers
The Library has computers with free Internet access and programs, such as Microsoft Word, available for use.
Books, Videos, Music & Toys
If you want to read books, view movies or listen to music in your own language, the Library has books, videos (DVD & VHS), and CDs for adults on the second floor and for children on the first floor. Families may also borrow parenting books, toys, puppets, puzzles and games on the first floor.
Programs
The Library offers free programs for children, teens and adults, like stories for children, computer classes for adults and crafts for teens. Some family storytimes are offered in Spanish and Polish. For more information, contact the Library at 847-253-5675.
Translators may be available in your language to answer questions about and assist in the Library. Please ask.

Visit the Library’s English as a Second Language (ESL) Collection on the second floor for books, videos (DVD & VHS), cassettes and CDs to help you learn English. You will also find materials to help you prepare for the TOEFL exam and citizenship exam.
