Let the Library select and reserve books for you. Just give us an idea of the type of books you are looking for and the ages of the kids, and we’ll find great books that fit the bill. We’ll have them ready for you to pick up or we can arrange delivery.

Home child care providers can request theme-based Book Bags, which will be assembled by the Library staff. these Book Bags can include books and audiovisual materials. The bags will contain approximately 15 items, but limits may be placed on the number of items sent if a topic is in high demand.

To Help us provide the best possible service and the highest quality materials please follow these procedures when ordering a Book Bag:

• Materials should be ordered at least 72 hours in advance.
• There is a limit of one Book Bag at a time.
• Book Bags are checked out for three weeks.

Requests can be made in person at the Youth Services Desk, by Phone 847/253-5675, by e-mailing bookbag@mppl.org or using our online web form.

Rotating in new toys, puzzles, or puppets doesn’t have to cost money. Borrow some from the Library. We have a wide selection to choose from – come take a look!

Our Parent /Teacher collection is filled with books and DVDs that can help you plan fun, age-appropriate activities and crafts.

Bring the kids on a field trip to the Library! Our monthly Create-a-Craft programs and weekly Open Storytimes provide a great change of scenery and can accommodate groups of kids.

Monthly, Fridays, 11:30 a.m. – 5 p.m. Make some fun projects to take home— we supply all of the materials for this free, drop-in program. Check our online calendar at www.mppl.org/events for the specifics Fridays.

Weekly, a variety of times and days.
Open Storytimes are offered throughout the year.  No need to sign up or make a commitment. Drop in whenever it fits your schedule. Each one is designed to appeal to children ages 6 and under.
