Library Foundation
The Library Foundation was established in 1997 to develop and manage an endowment fund created primarily through charitable contributions. The Foundation’s purpose is to provide additional funding for programs and services beyond what is available through the Library’s tax-supported base. Setting an initial goal of raising $200,000, the Endowment income will fund special Library programs and other services designed to respond to the interests and needs of the Mount Prospect Community.

Rinella Dazzles Audience with "Open" and "Stones Into Schools"

An enthusiastic audience of close to 100 people enjoyed the brand-new presentation of "academic entertainer" Barbara Rinella on Monday, October 4 at the Mount Prospect Public Library. Masterfully telling the life stories of two fascinating men, tennis great Andre Agassi and educator Greg Mortenson, Rinella's real-life portrayals of these two very different people delivered a powerful performance and an inspirational message-- nothing has a greater impact on children's lives than the education they receive.
Rinella based her performance on two books "Open" by Agassi and "Stones Into Schools," by Mortenson. Proceeds from the event benefit the Foundation, which raises funds to sponsor special programming and events at the Library.
One additional calendar note for those true Rinella followers, her next appearance at the Mount Prospect Public Library is scheduled for Monday, October 3, 2011.
